The current Amber Alert for cold weather has drawn attention to available help for anyone struggling to keep warm in their home during the winter months. Please see below information from Hitting the Cold Spots (Hampshire), an energy advice and support service run by the Enviroment Centre in conjunction with HCC.

With Hitting the Cold Spots (Hampshire), we are:

  • Responding to heating emergencies by providing temporary heaters and personal warming items such as blankets and handheld heat packs.
  • Helping vulnerable households access energy discounts, apply for financial support and switch to appropriate energy tariffs.
  • Supporting households to address the cause of draughts and heat loss in the home.
  • Helping vulnerable residents apply for grants to replace broken heating or upgrade old systems.
  • Helping residents learn effective ways to manage their home and personal warmth.

If you'd like to make a referral on behalf of someone living in a cold home in Hampshire, please click here and complete the referral form.

We'll do all we can to support those in need.
