WCC October Half Term Football Project
Ends: Friday 30th October 2020, 5:30pm
Details
The past 6 months have been difficult for everyone, however we have decided to run our October Half Term Football Project again this year and ensure that all children have the opportunity to stay physically active during this half term.
We are planning to run an October Football Coaching event, which will be a series of community football coaching events, aimed at girls and boys aged 6-13 years of age. The coaching sessions will take place over four days; Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th and Friday 30th October. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions in place we cannot run the large tournament on the Friday, however we have decided to run mini competitions at each location instead. There will be a small charge of £4 which is only £1 a session, if you know of children who would like to attend but may not be able to afford the price please do get in touch as we have some funded positions available.
We have partnered with ActiveMe 360, a local Social Enterprise specialising in improving the wellbeing, confidence and skills of young people, who will deliver these sessions over the four days in the following areas:
• Stanmore
• Weeke
• Kings Worthy
• Winchester City Centre
• Bishops Waltham
• Denmead
• Wickham
• Whiteley
• Colden Common
• Micheldever
• Alresford
This event follows our successful October Half Term Football Coaching event last year, where 419 children took part over the three days of coaching sessions. This is an excellent opportunity to involve children in a community driven week of activity, building on their wellbeing and confidence, which culminates into a final tournament to test their skills.
Individuals can book their space on the football coaching sessions via this link:
